NYC Flower Arrangement Pricing: What to Expect
TJ Flowers NYCShare
"How much should I spend on flowers?" is the most common question we answer at our York Avenue shop, and the honest reply depends on what the flowers are for. A hostess gift to a Tribeca dinner party is not priced the same as an Upper East Side sympathy piece or a weekly reception desk program at a Midtown law firm. Both are legitimate; both have clear price bands.
TJ Flowers has designed arrangements from our 1640 York Avenue studio since 1988 โ 38 years of delivering across Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Queens. These are our real 2026 pricing tiers, what each level delivers, and the honest tradeoffs at every step. No marketing language, no mystery.
The Four NYC Arrangement Tiers
Almost every arrangement we design falls into one of four price tiers. The tier corresponds to stem count, stem type, vessel, and overall scale:
| Tier | Price | Stem Count | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|
| Petite | $50 โ $75 | 12 โ 18 stems | Host gift, nightstand, intimate desk flowers |
| Standard | $85 โ $125 | 22 โ 32 stems | Birthday, thank-you, get-well, coffee table |
| Luxe | $145 โ $195 | 35 โ 55 stems | Anniversary, sympathy, executive gift, reception desk |
| Grand | $250 โ $500+ | 60 โ 120+ stems | Major celebration, entry console, client gifting |
Petite ($50 โ $75): The Hostess Gift Tier
A petite arrangement from TJ Flowers is 12โ18 stems in a bud vase or small ribbed glass cube, typically 6โ9 inches tall. Good for a dinner-party host gift in a Tribeca loft where kitchen counter space is tight, or for a bedside table at a friend's Brooklyn brownstone. You're getting real designer work โ hand-tied, conditioned, finished โ not a grocery bouquet. Vase life: 5โ8 days.
Standard ($85 โ $125): The NYC "Default"
This is the sweet spot for most of our daily Manhattan deliveries. A standard TJ Flowers arrangement uses 22โ32 stems including at least one focal variety (garden roses, ranunculus, lisianthus, or dahlias in season). Vessel is a 7โ9 inch ribbed glass cube, ceramic compote, or ribbed crystal footed vase. Perfect for birthdays to an Upper East Side doorman building, thank-you flowers to a colleague in Hudson Yards, or a quick Park Avenue get-well. Vase life: 6โ10 days.
Luxe ($145 โ $195): The Statement Tier
Once you cross $145, you're getting imported garden roses and specialty stems in meaningful quantity. This is our most-ordered tier for sympathy flowers (the scale shows respect), executive gifts, and Upper East Side console-table arrangements where the flowers are the room's focal point. Expect 35โ55 stems, a premium vessel (crystal footed, artisan ceramic), and a lush, garden-gathered silhouette. Vase life: 7โ12 days with proper care.
Grand ($250 โ $500+): Major Moments
The grand tier is where we pull out imported peonies, cascading garden roses, phalaenopsis sprays, and specialty greenery. This scale makes sense for milestone anniversaries, major client gifting (think law firm partner retirements, closing gifts on a nine-figure deal), and entry console moments in Fifth Avenue co-ops. A $350 grand arrangement carries 70+ stems; a $500 version includes designer vessels and rare imports. Vase life: 9โ14 days.
Manhattan Delivery Fees: What's Real in 2026
Delivery pricing in NYC is honest at TJ Flowers and we try to resist the industry pattern of low "everyday" fees that balloon at checkout. Our 2026 delivery structure:
| Zone | Fee | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Upper East Side (10021, 10028, 10075, 10128) | $15 | Our home zone; 2-hour windows available |
| Upper West Side, Midtown, Chelsea | $18 โ $22 | Standard Manhattan delivery |
| Tribeca, Soho, West Village, LES | $25 โ $28 | Downtown Manhattan routes |
| Financial District / Wall Street | $28 โ $32 | Weekday business hours |
| Brownstone Brooklyn (DUMBO, Brooklyn Heights, Park Slope) | $35 โ $45 | Bridge delivery |
| Long Island City, Astoria | $35 โ $42 | Queens routes |
| Same-day rush (booked after 1pm) | +$20 | Subject to capacity |
Tipping Etiquette for NYC Flower Delivery
Clients ask this all the time and the answer is: it's optional but common. If you add a tip at checkout, it goes directly to the delivery driver. Typical Manhattan gratuity on flower delivery is $5โ$15 for a standard arrangement, $15โ$25 for a grand arrangement, $20โ$40 for a large installation or multi-piece order with setup. We don't auto-add gratuity โ it's a choice you make at checkout.
For the recipient, you do not need to tip the flower delivery driver. The arrangement is a gift from the sender and the delivery is included in the sender's transaction.
What Affects Price Beyond the Tier
- Flower choice: Peonies in February (imported from New Zealand) can add $40โ$75 to an arrangement versus the same design in May when they're domestic and in season.
- Vessel upgrade: Swapping a standard ribbed glass cube for a designer ceramic compote adds $18โ$55.
- Rush timing: Same-day within 3 hours adds $20. Next-day standard is included.
- Venue access: Doorman buildings with no-lobby rules, or deliveries requiring elevator appointments, sometimes add $10โ$15.
Where to Save, Where Not To
If you're a regular gifter, our weekly corporate program at $125+ per week beats single-order pricing significantly โ you're in a standing route. If you're sending to the Upper East Side, our $15 home-zone delivery is the cheapest luxury flower delivery in NYC.
Don't save by going below $85 for a recipient you care about. A $65 "petite" from any NYC florist is a 12-stem piece; for a meaningful occasion (birthday, anniversary, sympathy), you want the $95+ standard tier or better. And never use mass-market national "flower delivery" brands for Manhattan addresses โ they route through third-party local florists with no quality control and arrive looking like grocery bouquets.
