TJ Flowers & Events opened on the Upper East Side of Manhattan in 1988. The neighborhood has changed in nearly four decades — Madison Avenue retail has cycled through five generations of luxury brands, the residential buildings have changed hands, the restaurants have come and gone. We've stayed on York Avenue, hand-designing flowers for Manhattan families, weddings, hospitals, hotels, restaurants, and offices the entire time.
That continuity matters. We've built relationships with NYC's premier wedding venues, the chapels and funeral homes that serve Upper East Side families, the boutique hotels that anchor the neighborhood, and the residential buildings whose doormen know our drivers by name. We've designed flowers for some of the same families for two and three generations.

Daily delivery — Same-day flower arrangements across Manhattan, with select service to Brooklyn, Queens, and the Hamptons (Memorial Day through Labor Day). Order by 2 PM for same-day; later by phone.

Weddings & events — From intimate Carlyle Hotel ceremonies to 250-guest Plaza Hotel receptions to outdoor Loeb Boathouse weddings in Central Park. Full-service installation and breakdown. Our wedding & events team handles 80-100 NYC weddings per year.

Sympathy & funeral — Standing sprays for funeral homes (Frank E. Campbell, Walter B. Cooke, Plaza Memorial), sympathy arrangements to family residences, and shiva-appropriate alternatives. Discreet, dignified, same-day capable.

Hospital deliveries — Routes to Mount Sinai, NYU Langone, Memorial Sloan Kettering, NewYork-Presbyterian/Cornell, Lenox Hill, and other Manhattan hospitals daily, including allergy-safe and oncology-appropriate arrangements.

Corporate & B2B — Weekly hotel lobby installations, restaurant table floral, residential building lobby programs, office reception desks. Multi-year contracts with Manhattan luxury hotels and restaurants.

Weekly subscriptions — Three-tier residential subscription service ($89/$149/$249 per week). Our longest-running clients have been on weekly delivery with us for 15+ years.
Orchid Specialists
One thing that sets us apart from most Manhattan florists: orchid depth. Our studio works with 66+ orchid varieties — Phalaenopsis (white, blush, purple, multi-color), Cymbidium (cascading sprays), Dendrobium (sculptural), Vanda (rare), Oncidium (dancing-lady), Cattleya (classic). We deliver living orchid plants and cut orchid arrangements across Manhattan daily. For a Father's Day gift or a sophisticated executive office, our orchid selection is unmatched in NYC.
Our Design Philosophy
We design garden-style — loose, abundant, intentional — and we lean into seasonal sourcing. In May and June, our studio is full of peonies. In August through October, café au lait dahlias. In winter, white amaryllis and burgundy garden roses. We source from the 28th Street wholesale flower market every morning, and we say no to wire-service-style arrangements. Every bouquet that leaves our studio is hand-tied by a designer, not assembled from a kit.
Vessels Matter
We've moved away from the standard glass cylinder vase. Our arrangements ship in hand-thrown ceramic vessels, blown glass, polished brass urns, silver footed compotes (for classical settings), and stoneware. When the arrangement arrives, the vessel becomes part of the gift — recipients keep our vessels and reuse them. We coordinate vessel selection with the room the flowers will live in, when we know.
How We Work With Clients
Most of our day-to-day work is one-off Manhattan delivery — a birthday, anniversary, sympathy, get-well, or just-because order placed by phone or online. For these we work fast: same-day delivery, designer's-choice arrangements at every price point ($150-$500 typical range), white-glove building-protocol handling.
For weddings, events, and B2B subscription programs, we work with you over weeks or months. Weddings begin with a venue walkthrough and design consultation at our studio. B2B programs typically start with a two-week trial installation so you can see the work in your space before signing an annual contract. Our wedding & events director handles consultations directly.

Tribeca, SoHo, NoHo, West Village, East Village, Chelsea, Gramercy, Murray Hill, FiDi — Daily delivery routes.

Brownstone Brooklyn — Park Slope, Cobble Hill, Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn Heights, DUMBO, Williamsburg.

Hamptons — Thursday delivery route Memorial Day through Labor Day, from Westhampton to Montauk.
What You Can Expect
When you order from our studio:
- A designer (not a call-center agent) takes your order if you call.
- Your arrangement is hand-built that morning from flowers sourced 24-48 hours earlier from the 28th Street wholesale market.
- Our driver delivers in our own van, not a contractor's. They know your building's protocol — service entrance, freight elevator, doorman handoff.
- You get a text confirmation when delivered.
- Vase life: 8-14 days on most arrangements (vs 4-6 from wire services), because the flowers are fresher.
- If something arrives less than perfect, we replace it. No questions, no forms.
