The Mark Hotel on East 77th Street and Madison Avenue is the modern luxury answer to The Carlyle. Designed by Jacques Grange in 2009, its black-and-white striped marble lobby is one of the most recognizable hotel interiors in New York. The 16,000-square-foot Penthouse Terrace on the rooftop offers private views of Central Park and is the venue for Manhattan's most exclusive intimate weddings — Mary-Kate Olsen, JLo, and Anne Hathaway have all stayed here. The Mark Restaurant by Jean-Georges anchors the ground floor.
