Weekly Flower Subscription in Manhattan: A NYC Florist's Residential Guide

By the TJ Flowers & Events design team — Manhattan florist since 1988.

Fresh Flowers Every Week, Hand-Designed, Delivered to Your Door

For 38 years our Upper East Side studio has delivered weekly flowers to Manhattan residences. The math is simple: a $89/week subscription costs $1.27 per day for a hand-designed seasonal arrangement that rotates through what's freshest each week. The result is a home that always has flowers, without the weekly trip to the florist or the inevitable "I forgot."

This guide covers what we send, what to expect, the pricing tiers, and how subscriptions work for Manhattan residential addresses.

Why Weekly Flowers Are the Best Florist Habit

  • Always fresh: Replace before the previous week's arrangement starts to wilt
  • Always different: Designer rotates seasonal blooms — March may be tulips and ranunculus, May peonies, August dahlias, October cafe au lait dahlias and chrysanthemum, December amaryllis and white roses
  • One predictable cost: No surprise spending; budget-friendly compared to ad-hoc orders
  • Designer's eye every week: Each arrangement is hand-built, not pre-packed
  • Discount vs ad-hoc: Weekly arrangements are 20-30% less than equivalent one-time orders

Subscription Tiers

The Essential — $89/week

  • Arrangement size: ~12 inches diameter, 14 inches tall
  • Stem count: 18-25 stems
  • Vessel: Hand-thrown ceramic vessel (yours to keep, rotated periodically)
  • Style: Seasonal designer's-choice — typically 1 focal flower + supporting blooms + greenery
  • Best for: Apartment kitchen island, console table, bedside

The Signature — $149/week

  • Arrangement size: ~15 inches diameter, 18 inches tall
  • Stem count: 30-40 stems
  • Vessel: Hand-thrown ceramic, blown glass, or stoneware (rotated)
  • Style: Premium seasonal — garden roses, peonies (in season), ranunculus, anemones, etc.
  • Best for: Dining table centerpiece, large console, statement entry

The Salon — $249/week

  • Arrangement size: ~18-20 inches diameter, 24+ inches tall
  • Stem count: 50-70 stems
  • Vessel: Premium hand-thrown ceramic or large brass / blown-glass urn
  • Style: Statement piece — substantial, designed to anchor a room
  • Best for: Large dining table, formal entry, primary living space

The Studio — $499+/week

  • Custom-designed each week in conversation with our head designer
  • Multiple arrangements across the home (e.g., main + bedside + powder room)
  • For: Larger residences, full-service homes, art-collector aesthetic

How It Works

  1. Choose your tier and delivery day (we recommend Thursday — fresh for the weekend)
  2. Set up payment via Shopify subscription (auto-charged weekly, biweekly, or monthly)
  3. Provide delivery instructions (doorman? leave at door? specific time?)
  4. We deliver at the same time each week
  5. Vessel rotation: We swap vessels periodically and take the previous one back to refresh

Building Protocols We Handle Daily

Manhattan residential delivery requires knowing each building's rules. Our drivers know:

  • Doorman buildings: Whether to bring up or leave at desk; doorman's name and shift
  • Co-op buildings: Service entrance protocols; pre-cleared deliveries on file
  • Walk-ups: Buzzer codes, leave-at-door instructions, weather-safe placement
  • Full-service luxury buildings: Concierge protocols, freight elevator scheduling
  • Townhouses: Specific delivery instructions, alarm codes if applicable

Gift Subscriptions

Weekly subscriptions make exceptional gifts. Common scenarios:

  • Mother's Day → year of weekly flowers (the gift that keeps giving)
  • New parents — a 3-month subscription during the newborn period
  • Out-of-town parent — keep their NYC apartment fresh while you're traveling
  • Recovery / get-well — 4-8 weeks of cheerful flowers during a difficult period
  • Wedding gift — a year of flowers for the new home
  • Office gift — keep a colleague's office fresh as a thank-you

Gift subscriptions can be set for any duration (4 weeks, 12 weeks, 26 weeks, 52 weeks) and we'll include a personalized card with the first delivery.

Working With TJ Flowers for a Subscription

Subscriptions are how our studio's longest-standing clients work with us. The arrangements are higher quality than ad-hoc orders (we plan ahead, source the best of what's coming in), and the relationship is far more personal — we know your home, your preferences, your taste.

To start a subscription, please contact our team or call (212) 628-1214. We'll discuss the right tier for your home, your aesthetic preferences, and your building's logistics.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a weekly flower subscription cost in Manhattan?

Tiers start at $89/week (Essential) and go up through $149 (Signature), $249 (Salon), and $499+ (Studio). Most residential clients are on Essential or Signature. Discounts available for biweekly (5%) or monthly (10%) frequency.

What flowers will I receive each week?

Designer's choice based on what's freshest that week. We aim for variety — peonies (May-June), ranunculus and anemones (March-May), garden roses year-round, dahlias (Aug-Oct), chrysanthemum (fall), amaryllis (winter). You'll never receive the same arrangement twice in a row.

Can I specify a color palette or flowers I don't like?

Yes. We keep notes on your preferences (e.g., "no carnations", "loves pink and blush", "no fragrant flowers"). We'll honor those week to week.

What if I'm traveling?

Skip any week — just let us know by Tuesday before Thursday delivery. No charge for skipped weeks. Or we can deliver to a different address (e.g., a neighbor watering plants).

Do you deliver outside Manhattan?

Yes — Brooklyn, Queens, Westchester (additional delivery fee, $25-$45 depending on distance). All Manhattan deliveries are included in the subscription price.

Can I gift a subscription to someone?

Yes. Choose duration (4, 12, 26, 52 weeks), tier, and delivery address. We include a personalized card with the first delivery. The recipient never sees pricing or auto-renewal — it's a clean gift.

What's the cancellation policy?

Cancel anytime, no fees, no contract. Most clients keep subscriptions running for years.

One Final Note

The single most-cited reason long-time clients give for staying with our subscription is that it removes a decision. You don't have to remember to buy flowers, you don't have to choose, you don't have to drive to the florist. It just happens. Thursday comes, the flowers arrive, the home feels different.
